  • About the Course :

    Course Description: This is an introductory course in statistics aimed at students from a wide range of disciplines. Topics covered include the representation and description of data, the normal curve, regression, probability, statistical inference, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing with real-world applications. Students also have the opportunity to analyze data sets.

    Types of Data-Descriptive Statistics- Frequency Distributions- Graphs, Central Tendency Measures (Mean, Medians, Mode) and Quartiles-Percentiles, Range-Standard-Mean-Variance and Standard Deviation, Basic Probability, Definition and Assumptions of Probability, Addition Rule, Conditional Probability and Independence of Events, Evaluation of Laboratory Tests (Specificity, Sensitivity, and Related Tests), Discrete Random Variable, Binomial Distribution, Continuous Random Variable and Probability Density Function, Normal Distribution, Sampling Distribution of The Sample Mean, Point and Interval Estimation of The Mean (μ) Sample Size Determination, Point and Interval Estimation of The Population Proportion (p) Sample Size Determination, Hypothesis Testing-Introduction-Test About the Population Mean (μ), Test About Two Means Assuming Equal Variances (Independent Samples), Test About the Proportion (p), Tests About the Population Means, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Estimation of the Regression Equation, Simple Linear Regression Equation.
