    Course Description: This is an introductory course in statistics aimed at students from a wide range of disciplines. Topics covered include the representation and description of data, the normal curve, regression, probability, statistical inference, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing with real-world applications. Students also have the opportunity to analyze data sets.

    Definition and Branches of Statistics -The Five Basic Words of Statistics Population-Sample-Parameter-Statistic and Variable, Data Types-Source of Data-Methods of Data Collection-and Sampling Techniques and Sampling Methods, Graphical Representation, Arithmetic Mean - Median and Mode- Quartiles and Geometric-Harmonic Mean, Range- Mean Deviation- Variance and Standard Deviation, Coefficient of Variation, Interquartile Range and Boxplot, Skewness-Kurtosis and Moments, Basic Principle of Counting, Multinomial Coefficients, Random Experiment, Sample Space, Events and Operations on Events, Definition and Concept of Probability, Conditional, Random Variables.
