  • About the Course :

    It is an introductory course in statistics intended for students in a wide variety of areas of study. Topics discussed include displaying and describing data, the normal curve, regression, probability, statistical inference, confidence intervals, and hypothesis tests with applications in the real world. Students also have the opportunity to analyze data sets.

    Statistical Inference-Samples-Population-Rules of Probability, Collection of Data, Measures of Central Tendency-The Sample Mean and Median- and Mode, Measures of Variability, Sample Space-Events, Counting Sample Points, Probability of an Event, Additive Rules, Conditional Probability and Bayes Rules, Independence and the Products Rule, Concepts of Random Variables-Random Variables, Discrete Random Variables, Continuous Random Variables, Joint Probability Distributions, Binomial and Multinomial Distributions, Negative Binomial, Normal Distribution and Area Under the Normal Curve, Normal Approximation to Binomial, Chi-Square Distribution, Type one Testing Hypothesis.
